Second Diggers Festival

The Second Wellingborough Diggers Festival supported by The Co-operative Society, will take place on Saturday 10th March 2012. The event will start at 7.30pm and will be held at Gleneagles Social Club, Grafton Close, Wellingborough, Northants, NN8 5WA.
The evening of entertainment to commemorate Gerrard Winstanley and The Wellingborough Diggers will open with one of Northamptonshire's finest poets. Michael Buchanan will be performing poems from his album "Life Lines" plus others. He describes himself and his influences as:
"A tractorist and poet, not a description you hear every day! My arrival at this point is via an interesting route:- farm worker, trades union activist, father, head greenkeeper, community artist, estate agent, grandfather - all of these things have had an influence on my poetry. While not stuck in the past, I do mourn for the lost values of skill, honour, craftsmanship and truth."
From London, singer/songwriter Leon Rosselson (left) , "Who Turned The World Upside Down", will also be performing and the evenings entertainment will close with local duo The Geripatricks.
